We’d love to see you enter as many events as possible! Before you nominate, check which events are appropriate for you and your horse.

𝑯𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒔 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 (𝑨𝑩𝑪𝑹𝑨 𝑹𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌):

𝑀𝑎𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛 𝐻𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑒: A Maiden horse ceases to be a Maiden if it has won an event in any class or contest except Junior, Juvenile, Associate, Futurity, Encouragement drafts, or Team events. A Maiden horse can be entered in any event.

𝑁𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝐻𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑒: A Novice horse is a horse that has won first prize in a Maiden, Novice, Ladies, Men’s, or a restricted campdraft and remains a Novice until it has won a further three Novice drafts. A horse that has won an Open Campdraft ceases to be a Novice. A horse can win four Novice drafts if it has not won first prize in a Maiden. A Novice horse can be entered in any event excluding Maiden.

𝑂𝑝𝑒𝑛 𝐻𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑒: An Open horse is a horse which has won first prize in an Open Campdraft or has completed its Novice status. An Open horse can be entered in any event excluding Maiden and Novice.

𝑂𝑝𝑒𝑛 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑡: The Open Campdraft is not restricted. A Maiden or Novice horse can compete in the Open, and a horse that wins an Open Campdraft will become an Open status horse.

𝑶𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒐:

𝑇𝑆𝑃𝐻 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑦 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑡 – 5 𝑌𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠 & 𝑈𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟: Open to any horse bred or sold by TSPH or sired by any of the 6 stallions listed in the Incentive flyer since 2008, aged 5 and under. Perfect for young horses to gain early competition experience.

𝑇𝑆𝑃𝐻 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑦 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑡 – 6 𝑌𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠 & 𝑂𝑣𝑒𝑟: Same eligibility as above but for horses 6 years and older, allowing more experienced TSPH horses to showcase their training and talent.

𝐽𝑖𝑚𝑚𝑦 𝑊𝑒𝑏𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑀𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝐽𝑢𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑡: Open to Juvenile riders (13–17 years) who have attended a Neil Faint Campdraft Clinic within the past 5 years. This event honours Jimmy’s passion for campdrafting.

𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑜𝑛 𝑀𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑦 𝑀𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑁𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑡: Open to riders who have attended a Neil Faint Campdraft Clinic within the past 5 years, riding Maiden or Novice horses. This event celebrates Sharon’s legacy of encouragement and learning.

𝐵𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑡: For first-time campdrafters who have never competed at a campdraft before. A perfect way to gain experience and confidence.

𝐽𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑝𝑜𝑡 𝑀𝑎𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑡: Open to any rider, clinic participation not required. Two runs allowed — giving horses and riders more chances to compete and gain experience.

𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑖 𝐶𝑢𝑡-𝑂𝑢𝑡: Perfect for our under 8 year old riders, staying in the camp completing a cut-out on someone in a cow suit.

𝑹𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔:

𝐽𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑜𝑟: 8 – under 13 years

𝐽𝑢𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑙𝑒: 13 – under 17 years

𝐸𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡: 17 years + who have not won an Open age draft. Ceases eligibility after winning one Encouragement or Open, or placing three times in Open.

We often get asked how entry fees are worked out — so here’s a little insight into what goes on behind the scenes

The ABCRA provides a spreadsheet where we enter the posted prizemoney for each draft. From that, ABCRA determines the maximum entry fee that can be charged.

We’re proud to say that our entry fees are kept well below that maximum figure.

It’s also worth knowing that your entry fee doesn’t just go to the committee. Each entry is divided across several essential areas that make the event possible:

• Cattle hire and freight

• First aid services

• Cattle levy (in case a beast is lost)

• Committee portion – which is reinvested back into the event through ground hire, additional prizemoney, buckles, or covering gaps like cattle freight.

Every dollar helps ensure the event runs smoothly, safely, and continues to deliver the quality experience everyone enjoys — both in and out of the arena!
